Numerical control systems, based on PCs, are very popular due to their availability and low price. The master computer is used to enter information and visualization. The slave device, connected to PC, works as a motor controller. Usually the slave is based on a microcontroller. The article presents a numerical control system of a multi-axis machine built using a programmable logic device.
