Comparison of hand lay-up technology and vacuum bag molding technology to final quality of composite material

Abstract
This paper compares hand lay-up and vacuum bag molding technologies on the resulting quality of composite material. Composites fabricated by vacuum bag molding technology shows the better mechanical properties. This process is still not effective because the vacuum is not able to eliminate the air bubbles and voids that already stuck in the composite because of the curing process that has been started before the vacuum process. Obtained information within the article, are used for the understanding of production process of both methods. Pointing to the elimination of artifacts occurring during production process and comparison of mechanical properties of composite materials produced by these two method.
