Abstract


SMART identification is a necessary part of industrial processes, which replaces human supervision at the production line. The paper describes a machine vision system for SMART identification of objects with full digitalization for requirements of Industry 4.0. In the introduction, this system is analyzed from a theoretical point of view, and the advantages and possibilities of its use are emphasized. The following section presents our research workplace, where the machine vision is located. The workplace involves two identification stations, one of them with 3D measurement and the second is a 2D multi-spectrum with several types of lighting. One part of this section describes the workplace in 2D view and the vision system equipment situated in this laboratory. The third part examines the possibilities of character identification by this system. A demonstration of the identification in the software is shown and things that must be taken into consideration, when working with this system, are mentioned as well. The experiment shows which type of lighting is the most suitable for our character identification. In the conclusion, a summary of the paper and the results of the measurement are mentioned.
