Static-structural stress analysis of double row deep groove ball bearing

Abstract


The motivation for this article is the static-structural simulation of double row deep groove ball bearing using the finite element method to the investigation of von Mises stress, the contact pressure and actuating contact forces in case of individual rings and rolling elements. Another aim was to obtain the results and graphical outputs of normal and shear stresses and subsequent evaluation. The mentioned simulation was carried out in FEM analysis program ANSYS Workbench and the obtained results were compared and proved by the analytical contact methodology of Hertz theory in order to demonstrate correct procedure and progress.
