Design of mechatronic unit for application of coats of adhesive

Abstract


This paper presents the design of a mechatronic unit for application of adhesives on parts of seating systems for public transport vehicles. The reason for undertaking this research work is related to the need to implement automation to the glue application process, currently performed with spray guns. An earlier analysis was used in the present research to develop the concept of mechatronic unit to serve this purpose. The two main assemblies defining the functionality of the unit are the rotary table including drive system and the spraying system with translation in X, Y, Z axes and rotation about their own axes. The design of the respective nodes and assemblies is described.
