Abstract


The article presents the results of research on the impact of geometrical parameters of forming channels on the value of a limit force, which is the main parameter of dry ice compaction process in the piston technique. During testing, the material was agglomerated using different multichannel dies. The material is characterized by low temperature and sublimation under ambient conditions. The research focused on determining the influence of geometrical parameters of the conical part and the cylindrical forming chamber, which influence the value of boundary stress in the process of agglomeration of carbon dioxide. Determining the value of limit force is the basis for formulating design assumptions, which is the starting point for the design and construction of a machine for compaction of dry ice.
